We are pleased to offer this selected list of projects below. For more information, read more about our services.
Changing Places: From Black & White to Technicolor®
K&A curated and produced this online exhibition for the Levine Museum of the New South, one section of their award winning multi-part project on immigration. The Changing Places project won several national awards including Excellence in Exhibition from the American Association of Museums.
Cumberland Island National Seashore
K&A documented, researched, and wrote this cultural inventory for the national park Cumberland Island National Seashore.
Part of their internal review of cultural resources and programming, our work also provided evaluation that prepared the national park to create a new strategic plan.
North Carolina Coastal Folklife Survey
K&A provided ethnographic research, including interviews, audio recordings, and documentary photography for the North Carolina Arts Council.
Part of a larger consortium's focus on rural eastern North Carolina, this study has been used to highlight valuable cultural resources in the region — a means to grow responsible economic development and job creation.
K&A researched and wrote case statements for Pocosin Arts to be used as tools in their capital campaign. We gathered and analyzed organization data, economic information, and local demographics to make the case for a new building.
The campaign is underway and the beautiful, new space will be LEED certified, provide craft galleries, and house artist studios.
Because We're Still Here (and Moving)
K&A developed and presented oral history workshops for high school and college students as part of this Hidden Voices project. A documentary and performance program, it focused on and mapped the rich history of an African American neighborhood currently being displaced by gentrification.
